T</b>he blues would also serve as a foundation for the development of hard rock or heavy metal. British hard rock bands like the Jeff Beck Group, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin borrowed heavily from the blues. The first selection is the original version of Howlin' Wolf's "Ain't Superstitious" followed by a remake from the Jeff Beck Group.

G</b>iving the classic "Ain't Superstitious" a rock reworking the Jeff Beck Group with future Faces and Rolling Stone's guitarist Ron Wood on bass and Rod Stewart, in his first major band, on vocals.

H</b>ard rock's goal was to play louder, longer and harder featuring lengthy instrumental improvisation. It seemed as the times got more intense, so did the music. As the times got more confrontational, the music got louder and harder. Many groups found huge success mining this vein, including Iron Butterfly, Deep Purple and the masters of heavy rock, Led Zeppelin.
