T</b>oday Rock has broken into separate categories including Active Rock featuring established acts like John Mellencamp, Van Halen and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers along with some new faces. There's Alternative Rock, featuring Kurt Cobain's widow, Cortney Love; and Hole; Collective Soul, No Doubt, Offspring and Semisonic. There's even Adult Alternative for older rockers with the Wallflowers led by Jakob Dylan; Bob's son, along with Sheryl Crow, Bruce Hornsby and Chris Issak.

W</b>hat's next? Who knows? Rap has grown through the 80's and '90s. Already people have taken rap elements and merged them into rock. And what about getting the music out? There's rock on the internet and the ability to download songs. The only thing that's really important is that rock doesn't become safe and secure. Without the wildness, carefree spirit and sense of rebellion it's just a bunch of noise.
