Four albums into their career, the Swedish Melodic Death Metal band Soilwork, originally known as Inferior Breed, toured the U.S. in '02 for the first time. Success wasn't just around the corner, but it was closer.
Soilwork had their best showing with their sixth album "Stabbing The Drama." The '05 release peaked at #12 on the Billboard Heatseeker Chart and #21 on the Indie Album Chart.
Their next album "Sworn To A Great Divide" led to an American tour with co-headliners Lamb Of God and Killswitch Engage.
"The Panic Broadcast" and "The Living Infinite" rolled out in '10 and '13, respectively.
Throughout their career Soilwork's line-up was a revolving door with no less than ten ex-band members. Frontman Bjorn "Speed" Strid was the only remaining original member.
Likely to no one's surprise, Soilwork had yet another lineup change in advance of the release of their tenth album, "The Ride Majestic." Former Hearts Alive bassist Markus Wibom replaced Ola Flink, who left the group to focus on 'other endeavors'.
In '16, as Chris Adler (Lamb Of God) was wrapping up his tenure with Megadeth he introduced Soilwork drummer Dirk Verbeuren to the group.
As a result, Verbeuren took over from Alder during Megdeth's spring tour. And just months later, he was named a full-time member, ending his run with Soilwork.
"Soilwork have been incredible, a portion of my life I honor with pride," stated Verbeuren.
For their part, Soilwork wished Verbeuren "good luck" and vowed to press on.
