Recorded at Soundtrack Black Studio in the hills of East Tennessee Alt. Metal band My Ruin issued "The Sacred Mood" in '13. "In an industry that is ever changing, we're not a band who pays attention to the current trends," said frontwoman Tairrie B, whose intense stage performances, along with her husband Mick Murphy's fret work, garnered the group attention and praise. "We've found our sound and we simply do what we do while staying true to our roots."
The duo, My Ruin, formed in '99 and released their debut album, "Speak And Destroy," later that year.
"The Brutal Language," "Throat Full Of Heart and the live set "Alive On the Other Side" were released on the group's own imprint, Rovena Recordings. In addition, a portion of their catalog was handled by indie labels. However, My Ruin's 7th studio album, "A Southern Revelation," was a free download direct to the fans.
"We have learned over time that most record labels are not for us and we seem to do better on our own as a DIY independent band which is what we always have been, today more than ever," explained Tairrie B.
"The Sacred Mood," My Ruin's 8th album was mixed, engineered and co-produced by Joel Stooksbury and Murphy. It was released digitally with a hardcover print & e-book containing illustrations of the band, lyrics, short stories and original art pieces.
