Since Christian Rock group MercyMe formed in '94, they have scored a double platinum album - their debut "Almost There"; gold albums; #1 singles on the Billboard Christian Songs chart and Dove Awards (Christian music's Grammys).
Following the group's sophomore set, "Spoken For," MercyMe added guitarist Barry Graul, who had previously been with the Christian Hard Rock outfit Whitecross.
"Undone," MercyMe's third effort peaked at #12 on the Billboard 200, their best Billboard showing to that point. Predictably, the album went to #1 on the Christian Albums chart. The set included "Here With Me," which also became an Adult Contemporary (AC) hit.
"Coming Up To Breathe" was a more Rock-oriented album, and as a result did well on both the Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts - another first for the group.
'07's "All That Is Within Me," another gold record, was followed a year later by "Coming Up To Breathe: Acoustic" and the greatest hits package "10," which was mostly hits with a handful on new tracks - plus live performance videos.
MercyMe's seventh studio album, "The Generous Mr. Lovewell," peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 (the group's highest debut).
"The Worship Sessions," dropping in '11, was just what the title implied. It was released exclusively at Family Christian Book Stores.
Still on a roll, "The Hurt & The Healer," which came out in the spring of '12 debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 33,000 copies in its first week of release.
