When The Men formed in '08, Mark Perro was the drummer. Three years later he was the singer-guitarist with Rich Samis sitting behind the drum kit. A year after that, Kevin Faulkner was added on lap steel. Another switch was bassist Chris Hansell's departure in '11. He was replaced by Ben Greenberg, who engineered the group's sophomore set "Leave Home."
The Brooklyn-based Punk band released the full-length debut, "Immaculada" in '10 and "Leaving Home," a year later. Their third album, "Open Your Heart," represented a significant change. The band incorporated Surf Rock and Country music elements. The broadened scope earned The Men a "Best New Music" nod from Pitchfork Media.
Similar in style to "Open Your Heart," the group's fourth album, "New Moon," arrived in '13.
"Tomorrow's Hits," featuring the single "Pearly Gates," dropped a year later. The album was recorded by Ben Greenberg at Strange Weather studio in Brooklyn.
