During Frances Quinlan's senior year in high school she recorded a solo album, "Freshman Year," under the Hop Along, Queen Ansleis moniker. In '08, drummer Mark Quinlan (Frances' brother) joined with bassist Tyler Long coming onboard the following year.
As a result, the Folk-Grunge (mostly Grunge) group shortened their name to Hop Along. The EP, "Wretches," dropped in '09 with the full-length "Get Disowned" arriving three years later. It earned a positive critical response from independent music press.
Having moved to the indie label Saddle Creek Records, Hop Along rolled out "Painted Shut" in '15. The mainstream music press, namely Rolling Stone magazine, gave the set four-stars out of five.
