Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley teamed with Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian and vocalist Keith Buckley for Damned Things. Of the quartet, Buckley had the least known resume. He gained notoriety as the frontman for the Metalcore Every Time I Die. The Buffalo native was named after Keith Lincoln, running back with the Bills.
The band came about in '09 as Fall Out Boy was "decompressing." The down time allowed Trohman and Hurley to "test their Metal."
"It's super fun and it's something that we do totally take seriously because we love the music we've created," said Ian. "People think of Fall Out Boy and they think of (bassist) Pete Wentz and (frontman) Patrick (Stump). These two guys (Trohman and Hurley), man, they're f**king hardcore dudes."
"Joe writes some amazing riffs," continued Ian. "We have this song called "A Great Reckoning" that I swear to God, this song could be on any Thin Lizzy record. He f**king blew my mind with this song and I just can't wait for people to hear it."
Coming from Ian that was pretty impressive.
