Clap Your Hands And Say Yeah

Solo albums and side projects are great creative outlets but they can confuse fans. By '09 Clap Your Hands And Say Yeah (CYHSY) had released two albums when band member Alec Ounsworth released his solo debut, "Mo Beauty." His other band, Flashy Python, also issued their debut album, "Skin And Bones." In addition, CYHSY's Robbie Guertin and Tyler Sargent were also in the band Uninhabitable Mansions who released an album. So now what?

The group's '11 release, "Hysterical," came with assurances that the group hadn't broken up.

College friends formed CYHSY in NYC and made their initial impression online getting attention from blogs. Pitchfork Media chimed in with their endorsement, "Best New Music". David Byrne (Talking Heads) and David Bowie were spotted at CYHSY shows.

Their '05 self-released album was followed by "Some Loud Thunder" two years later. That same year, "Live At Lollapalooza 2007: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah" was released on iTunes. It featured the band's complete Lollapalooza set.
