Chris Isaak

Two albums into his career, Chris Isaak had established a cult following built around a handful of songs, including the haunting "Gone Ridin'." Despite having a vocal and emotive range similar to Rob Orbison, it didn't look as though Isaak's Rockabilly tinged approach was going to find a mass audience.

Then came the ballad "Wicked Game," supported by a steamy video with model Helena Christensen. The song from Isaak's third album, '89's "Heart Shaped World," became ubiquitous.

Though Isaak never matched "Wicked Game" or "Heart Shaped World," his songs were heard in David Lynch and Stanley Kubrick films ("Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing" is in Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut"), he remained popular enough to record over a half dozen subsequent albums. His '15 release was titled "First Comes The Night."

Likely thanks to the "Wicked Game" video, Isaak also found consistent employment as an actor beginning with '88's Married To The Mob. His TV worked included the Chris Isaak Show and appearing on Australian Idol and The X Factor Australia.
