Elvis Presley named the first Rockin'Town Legend
For the third consecutive year, Elvis Presley fans made their hero number 1 on annual RockinTown Hall of Fame tally. No other performer or group has ever won the voting more than once. Elvis beat out both Bruce Springsteen and The Beatles by more than 5,000 votes. Over 70,000 votes were cast. As a result of Presley’s stunning string of victories he has been retired and has been named the first RockinTown Legend.
The Top 10 included (in order) Led Zeppelin, U2, Ramones, Evanescence, Nirvana, White Stripes and the Rolling Stones. Soundgarden’s reunion pushed the Grunge band to 12.
The Best Group of 2010, according to RockinTown voters, was Puddle Of Mudd for their late ’09 set Volume 4: Songs In The Key Of Love & Hate. Only a few votes behind was Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers album Mojo. Votes were tallied for albums released between October 2009 and December 2010. |
